Flow: The Heartbeat of Art
All art has a heartbeat. Yes, you heard me right—if not a physical heartbeat, a metaphorical one. Art has a life of its own… it is alive, it makes us feel ourselves more deeply. We feel more alive when we experience art, for it transports us away from everyday life while also making us more aware of the raw stuff that makes up life in the first place. All art has movement, whether that be the leaping jump of the rock climber, the spin of the dancer, the arc of paint on a canvas, or the musical roll of words. Art has a pleasing rhythm all its own, and each piece of art has a slightly different rhythm. The best results are often created when the artist enters that “flow state,” tapping into that heartbeat. When that flow is expressed, it erupts into this beautiful thing we call art. And that is what this blog is devoted to—flow, the heartbeat of art.
I am planning on posting at least once during the week, whether that be musings, pictures, creative fragments, updates, scriptures, a little bit about my life, or a short piece that I have written. On weekends, I will post a quote about writing or just life in general. My goal will be to weave little bits of life into something beautiful, something like—dare I call it—art.
